|Adult Sunday School
Sunday School classes and weekday Bible study groups provide opportunities for adults of all ages to grow in their Christian faith while enjoying fellowship with others within the church family.
All Adult Sunday School Classes meet in the Sanctuary Building at 10:00 AM.
Growing in Faith Class is a group of young adults in their early twenties to late thirties who focus on real world applications of the Gospel and other New Testament writings. The casual atmosphere promotes the building of relationships with classmates, who grow together in faith and understanding. There are monthly social gatherings. Room S-103
Young Adult Class focuses on the challenges and stresses of everyday life and how the Bible speaks to these concerns. Fellowship and mutual encouragement are hallmarks of this class, with members donating their time to many projects at St. Matthew. Room S-107
The Upper Room is an inter-generational class of committed members with diverse viewpoints. The class explores the Bible and relates God’s words to the experiences of today. Conference room in the church office
Trinity Class studies lessons taken from various books in the Cokesbury catalog, both Bible studies and books that address social issues from a Christian perspective, taught by class members. There are quarterly social gatherings and numerous mission projects. Room S-104
Aldersgate Class uses Adult Bible Studies from the United Methodist International Series. The class gathers at a local restaurant for dinner and fellowship once a month. Room S-106Christian Fellowship Class is a group of older adults, committed to caring for each other and to involvement in missions. Their lessons are from the International Series. Room S-103
The Men’s Breakfast Group meets on Friday mornings at 7:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall in the Family Life Center. Coffee and sausage biscuits or other breakfast items are served while Rev. Cam Treece leads an informal discussion related to Biblical issues from a man’s point of view.
Thursday Morning Bible Study is an ongoing class which meets at 10:30 AM in the Conference Room. Rev. Cam Treece leads this informal study and discussion of various scripture selections.
Women’s Bible Study is held on Wednesday nights from 6:30 until 8:00 PM in the church parlor. The current study, "Grace: An Invitation to a Way of Life" by Willow Creek Press began on October 6. Study books are available in the church office for $9.00.
United Methodist Women
United Methodist Womenis a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of Mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Lydia Circle meets on the second Monday night at 7:30 in the church parlor. Leader - Susan Thomas.
Mary Martha Circle meets the second Tuesday at 10:30 AM in Room S 103. Leader - Nancy Field.
Rachel Circle meets the second Tuesday at 6:30 PM in member homes. Leader - Susan White.
