Planning Survey from the Building Committee

St. Matthew stained glass window

May 7, 2020
Dear St. Matthew Family,
We hope this letter finds you well.  These are strange and hard times for us all.  We, as the Building Committee, have continued to meet remotely and wanted to give you an update on our plans and progress.

We interviewed architectural firms in-person in February and hired LS3P.  The firm has 25 years experience working with churches – over 400.  There will be 4 team members working on our project – one is a forensic architect who specializes in analyzing and remediating building failures.  Their first step in working with St. Matthew was to be a series of in-person listening sessions.  The purpose of the listening sessions is for the architects to understand what members would like to achieve with this project.  But, as we are sure you understand, in-person listening sessions are not possible at this time. Therefore, they have put together a survey that we plan to distribute both electronically and via snail mail.

We would like/need to have a response from each adult and youth who are members of St. Matthew.  The electronic form will be a link that will have space for you to submit your thoughts.  If you are unable to receive an electronic form, or you would just prefer to have a paper copy, please notify Susan Woods, church administrator,  and you will receive a form in the mail for each adult and youth in your family.

If you do not receive email information from the church, please call Susan Woods to provide your email address.  Either way you choose to receive the survey, please do fill it out a quickly as possible and return it to the church.
This first step is vitally important.  The architects need direction, and you can provide that direction.
With thanks and warm regards,
Mike Wattenbarger on behalf of the Building Committee
