December 9, 2024 Update
The roof replacement phase of this project has successfully replaced all the roof drains and lines (most of which were not functioning), removed the old roof, which consisted of four roofs, and installed a new membrane on the main roof to prevent water damage. There’s likely another 6 to 7 weeks of additional work required to install a new hatch, perform parapet work, and close the temporary flap.
Additionally, all the steel beams have been thoroughly inspected by a structural engineer, and those that needed sandblasting and coating have been completed.
The Committee is also considering the possibility of “backlighting” some or all of the stunning stained glass windows to enhance the beauty of the church and make it more visible to passersby during the evening.

October 14, 2024 Update
The reconstruction work is currently paused while Mavin and LS3P evaluate the roof drains and make the necessary repairs and additions.
Once the drains are in place, the fencing will return and the entire roof will be replaced – which will be a large effort.
We will make every effort to notify the congregation prior to each Sunday of any entrance and parking changes.
Also, all the visible steel supports will be treated, repaired and made ready for encasing. As this work and the installation of the new siding and other work revolves around the sanctuary building, the fencing too will move and enclose these work areas for safety. The entrances to the sanctuary building will change too for the fencing and related safety.
We plan to keep the sanctuary open – as both the Veritas School and the congregation will utilize it. The entrances will change as the work revolves around the building and the Y-side steps are replaced.
At some point, the interior of the sanctuary and the parlor will be repaired.
