Women’s Ministry:

The St. Matthew Women’s ministry invites all women to connect with Christ and each other. The Women’s Ministry includes small groups, fellowship evenings, an annual retreat, and bible studies. Opportunities are listed below or download the PDF.

  • Evening Friendship Gathering – Our small group of women gathers in the evening. We open with prayers for our family and friends and concerns that we might have. Then we have a Bible study and discussion following. Meets on the Second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the church parlor.

  • Faithful Friends – We are a small group of young women. Every other month we have a book or video discussion at someone’s home, and share refreshments, a devotion and prayer time. On alternate months we typically meet for a social event and share in fellowship. Our goal is to support and pray for one another in this busy season of life, as we build relationships and grow in our relationship with God. Meets on the First Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.

  • Mary-Martha Group – We are a small group of women mature in age (youthful in heart!) who meet monthly. Programs vary, including Bible or mission studies; activities of special interest to mature women, such as exercise and health activities; or nurturing to special church members with care notes, calls or visits. Meets on the Second Tuesday of each month at 10 am in the downstairs Sanctuary building, Room S-103.

  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – We are a group of knitters/crocheters who make lap robes and shawls for members of St. Matthew who are dealing with grief, illness, surgery, chemo, etc. White blankies are given to each newborn. We have also donated lap robes to GAIHN participants and Salkehatchie families touched by our volunteers.
