We want YOU to join a St. Matthew Small Group!
St. Matthew is excited to launch SMALL GROUPS and we'd like the entire congregation to participate!
What are St. Matthew Small Groups?
- Objective: To build a strong, interconnected church community through regular fellowship, acts of service, and mutual support among diverse groups.
- Structure: Groups of 4-5 family units meeting monthly and rotating twice a year. Groups will be intentionally diverse, including older adults, young families, singles, and members from different backgrounds.
How Often Do We Meet?
- Monthly Gatherings: Each group will meet once a month.
- Semester Rotations: Groups will rotate every school semester to ensure members interact with a wide range of people in the church community.
What Do We Do As A Group?
1. Meals and Fellowship:
- Monthly (or every other month) Meal: Each meeting will include a shared meal, either potluck-style or hosted by one of the families.
- Icebreakers and Games: To foster interaction and fun, include icebreaker activities and games.
2. Acts of Service:
- Community Service: Each group will plan and perform an act of service once a quarter. This could include activities like volunteering at a local shelter, organizing a neighborhood cleanup, or supporting a church outreach program.
- Support within the Church: Groups can also identify and help meet the needs of church members, such as helping with home repairs, providing meals for those in need, or offering childcare.
3. Discovering Talents and Gifts:
- Talent Sharing: Dedicate part of the meeting for members to share their talents, skills, and hobbies. This could be through demonstrations, mini-workshops, or simply sharing stories.
We want EVERYONE in the congregation to be a part of our groups.
