Rev. Dr. Kurt McPherson

Kurt was born and raised in North Carolina. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University (B.A.), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. – Psychology and Counseling), and The University of Sarasota/Argosy University (Ed.D. – Counseling Psychology). He has been in ministry since 1990. He has served as a hospital chaplain, hospice chaplain, hospice administrator, and pastoral counselor. He has been serving as a pastor of United Methodist churches in South Carolina since 2008.

Kurt is married to Lillie, who is currently a guidance counselor at J.L. Mann High School. Kurt and Lillie have two children: PJ (Phillip John) is a senior at Wake Forest University and Sophie is a sophomore at The University of South Carolina in Columbia.

Kurt loves to play sports of all kinds: golf, basketball, soccer, and pickleball. He is also a fan of the Demon Deacons, Carolina Panthers, and Carolina Hurricanes. His two favorite foods are pork barbecue sandwiches and hot glazed Krispy Kreme donuts.
